Maisie

In a warehouse carpark, under the city’s haze,
A timid kitten was found, they called her Maisie.
With her brother by her side, in the shadows they’d hide,
In a world so big, they took it in stride.

From timid to inquisitive, a transformation began,
In the safety of a foster home, away from the frying pan.
Once so close to her brother, like two peas in a pod,
She now ventures out, with a playful nod.

Exploring new corners, under the couch, behind the door,
In the safety of her home, she began to explore.
From the kitchen to the living room, up the stairs so high,
With each new adventure, she’d let out a joyful cry.

She loves to play games, chase a ball of yarn,
In the warmth of the blanket, away from harm.
Cuddling up in comfort, at the end of the day,
In her new found home, Maisie is here to stay.
