At The Kitten Collective, we use a comprehensive approach to find the ideal homes for our cats and the perfect feline companions for our adopters. Here’s how our unique adoption process works:
Complete the Adoption Form: Begin by filling out our adoption form. This helps us understand more about you, your family, and any current pets.
Phone Consultation: We’ll arrange a phone call to discuss your needs, as well as those of your family members and pets. This helps us get a clearer picture of what you're looking for.
Matching Process: Using the information from our conversation, we’ll identify the best feline candidates who match your needs and preferences.
Meet and Greet: We’ll set up a meeting with the recommended feline and their current caregiver. This allows you, the feline, and us to spend time together and ensure the match feels right.
Our goal is to ensure a perfect match between our cats and their new families, creating happy and harmonious homes for both.
The adoption fee covers several essential aspects to ensure that the cat is ready for their new home and to support ongoing care and rescue efforts. Here’s a breakdown of what’s included in the adoption fee:
Spaying/Castration: The cat will be spayed or castrated before adoption, preventing future litters and promoting their health.
Vaccinations: includes up-to-date vaccinations, subject to availability and veterinary advice.
Microchipping: Assists in ensuring the cat can be returned to you if lost. Registration transfer will be at the cost of the new owner.
Flea/Tick Treatment: Treatments will be up to date and occur prior to adoption.
Health Check: All our cats receive an intitial veterinary exam to ensure the cat is in good health. Additional health checks may be performed according to veterinary advice and the individual cats needs.
De-Worming: All our cats are given de-worming treatments to ensure the cat is free from intestinal parasites and will be up to date prior to adoption.
Support and Guidance: Adopting a cat is a major life event, both for the pet and the new owner. We offer a range of services and resources designed to help ensure a smooth transition and ongoing well-being for both the cat and their new family.
The adoption fee is a charge applied when you adopt. This fee helps cover various costs associated with preparing the pet for adoption and supports the ongoing work of the organization. While the exact amount can vary here’s a general overview of our adoption fees:

To volunteer, please fill out our volunteer application on our website or send us an enquiry via our socials and email. We have various volunteer opportunities, including cat care, fostering, event planning, and more.
Volunteers help with a range of tasks such as feeding and caring for the cats, cleaning, assisting with adoptions, helping at events, and fundraising.
No prior experience is required. We provide training and support to all new volunteers. A love for cats and a willingness to help are the most important qualifications!
Volunteers under 18 are welcome to assist with certain activities, but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please contact us for specific details on age requirements and opportunities.

Fostering involves providing a temporary home for a cat until it finds a permanent home. You will be responsible for the cat’s daily care, including feeding, grooming, and providing a safe and loving environment.

We welcome the support of our foster carers to cover the costs of food and litter. We occasionally receive donations and these will be shared within our network. Veterinary care is provided by The Kitten Collective. As a foster carer, you will provide the day-to-day care and a safe, loving home.
While you can express your preferences, we will match you with a cat that suits your home environment and experience level. We strive to ensure a good fit for both the cat and the foster family. We know our felines really well so it is important to us that we find a good match to ensure a smooth fostering experience for our felines and our foster carers.
If you find a stray cat, you can contact us for advice on how to proceed. We offer several programs to bring at risk felines to safety please reach out to us directly so we can provide the most appropriate advice.
